PAX
PAX is an advanced botanical formula combining concentrated extracts of Celastrus paniculatus and Tribulus terrestris to support healthy brain function, cognitive performance and resilience to everyday stress.
These two botanicals have been studied for their influence on multiple pathways involved in neurological health, including BDNF activity, antioxidant defense, healthy inflammatory signaling, neurotransmitter balance and neuronal integrity.
PAX is designed to provide broad-spectrum support for the nervous system while promoting memory, cognitive function, emotional balance and a healthy adaptive response to stress.

Suggested Use:
One to two capsules per day, away from food, stimulants and alcohol. Can be taken as two capsules, one hour before sleep, or as a split dose, one capsule one hour before bed and one capsule in the morning.
Caution: Consumption of Tribulus terrestris may result in mild digestive disturbances including stomach cramps, nausea, reflux, diarrhea, and local irritation of the gut lining. Celastrus paniculatus may trigger increased internal heat sensations, hot flushes, and sweating in sensitive individuals.
Clinical Considerations: Animals studies and a few case reports in humans have documented organ toxicity at high dose concentrations and after extended use including: kidney and liver damage, and reversible hepatic changes.
Possible drug interactions:
Adjuvants: Possible synergistic enhancement of antipsychotic medications like clozapine. The herb combination also complements conventional SSRIs, SNRIs or other monoamine-focused medications, potentially providing an augmented effect. Celastrus paniculatus (CP) acts as a natural acetylcholinesterase inhibitor (AChEI) and may enhance the effect of donepezil or rivastigmine. Tribulus terrestris exerts natural ACE-inhibitory and vasodilatory (vessel-relaxing) properties, and a sub-therapeutic drug dose with could provide a synergistic drop in blood pressure, and provide additional effect to ACE inhibitors (like lisinopril).
Warnings: Clinical safety profiles of both herbs are generally well-tolerated at typical supplemental levels; however, significant cautions are suggested regarding high dosages, and prolonged use.
Drug interactions:
Tribulus terrestris naturally lowers blood sugar and systemic blood pressure, consequently, cautious administration with anti-diabetes drugs (like insulin or metformin) or antihypertensive treatments (including diuretics). Tribulus terrestris may also interact with blood thinners like clopidogrel, altering clotting factors or increasing the risk of adverse vascular events, and is a moderate inhibitor of the Cytochrome P450 3A4 enzyme, which is responsible for breaking down many common medications, including statins, which may result in increased serum concentrations.
Celastrus paniculatus decreases monoamine turnover and interacts with serotonergic/dopaminergic pathways, clinical caution is advised if combined with standard psychiatric pharmaceuticals. Celastrus paniculatus acetylcholine-boosting mechanism will also directly antagonise and reduce the efficacy of anticholinergic medications (e.g., atropine, benztropine).

Research
Cognitive Function & Memory
Celastrus paniculatus has a long history of traditional use for memory and cognition. Preclinical research has investigated its effects on spatial learning, memory performance and cholinergic activity.
Research on the combination of Celastrus paniculatus and Tribulus terrestris has also examined its ability to support memory and cognitive performance during experimentally induced chronic stress.
BDNF & Neurotrophic Support
Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) plays an important role in neuronal health, plasticity and memory.
Preclinical combination research has investigated Celastrus paniculatus and Tribulus terrestris in relation to BDNF levels and cognitive changes associated with chronic stress.
Healthy Inflammatory Response
Both botanicals have been investigated for their effects on signaling pathways associated with a healthy inflammatory response.
Research has explored their influence on pathways and mediators including NF-κB, TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6, particularly in experimental models involving neurological stress.
Antioxidant & Cellular Protection
Celastrus paniculatus and Tribulus terrestris contain naturally occurring phytochemicals that have demonstrated antioxidant activity in experimental research.
Studies have examined their ability to help maintain healthy oxidative balance, support endogenous antioxidant enzymes and protect neuronal cells from oxidative stress.
Neuronal & Myelin Support
Preclinical studies involving Celastrus paniculatus have investigated changes in neuronal structure, phospholipid levels and myelin integrity.
Additional experimental research has explored the effects of these botanicals on neuronal survival pathways, including mechanisms associated with healthy cellular signaling and normal programmed cell turnover.
Stress & Emotional Well-Being
Experimental research has investigated both herbs for their influence on neurochemical pathways involved in the normal stress response.
Celastrus paniculatus has been studied in relation to monoamine turnover and stress-related signaling, while Tribulus terrestris has been investigated for its influence on serotonin and other neurochemical pathways associated with emotional well-being.
